Event Description

I’d Like to Buy an Enemy 2.0 – Champaign-Urbana, IL

Written by Ted Swartz, performed by Ted Swartz and Jenny Howard, and directed by Ingrid DeSanctis, I’d Like to Buy an Enemy 2.0 - The Fear Version will premiere at the Inaugural Champaign-Urbana Campus/Community Interfaith Exploration on Sunday, November 10, 2019 at 3pm at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, Lincoln Hall Theater, 702 S. Wright Blvd., Urbana, IL. Admission is free and open to the public, but seating is limited, so please register at this link to secure a seat.

"Enemy 2.0" is a comedic and thought-provoking look at the fears that often guide human behavior and lead to ‘othering’ people who are different from us, often dehumanizing them, ignoring the essential interconnection of all living beings. The performance explores issues of race and religion in this context as they present within the current ethos of the United States.
